Frequently asked questions

  • 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁𝘀?

Not sure what to wear for your professional headshots? You’re not alone , it’s one of the most common questions I get asked.

The right outfit can boost your confidence, shape how people see your brand, and make your photos feel more you.

Here’s what tends to work best for personal branding and corporate photography:

    Keep it simple and polished
Solid colours always win. They’re timeless, photograph cleanly, and let the focus stay on your face. Think navy, charcoal, black, white, or earthy tones — whatever complements your skin tone and reflects your business vibe.

Avoid bold patterns and busy prints
These can date quickly and distract from your expression. Some fine patterns can even create a strange effect in your photos camera (called moiré). Subtle textures or small design details are fine , but leave the loud prints for another day.

Dress like you’re meeting your dream client
What would you wear to a meeting where you want to feel confident and capable? That’s a good starting point. Whether you’re in a sharp corporate role or a more relaxed creative field, choose something that fits your personality and your profession.

Go for clothes that have shape
Fitted clothing nearly always photographs better. Baggy or oversized outfits can add visual weight and make it harder for me to pose you to flatter your shape. You don’t need anything clingy — just something the fits well and has a little structure.

    Bring a few options
Still unsure? Bring a couple of tops, jackets or layers. On the day, I’ll help you pick the ones that’ll photograph best — it’s part of what I do.

    A few extra tips:

    • Make sure your clothes are clean and crease-free

    • Check for lint, pet hair, stray threads, and labels

    • Avoid logos (unless they’re part of your brand)

    • Choose pieces that feel like you — just a bit more polished

Still stuck? Feel free to email me a few outfit ideas in advance. I’ll happily give you feedback to take the pressure off.

  • I shoot on location and at my Hibiscus Coast based photography studio.

For group bookings the fee is $100 PP and a $250 setup fee.

Group bookings are generally around 3 minutes per person for the shoot and a further five if you are selecting the images for editing.

Individuals can be the same as group booking but often I find individuals have more time and since I am never in a hurry we can relax and shoot to your schedule.

  • It depends on the type of shoot you book. Some sessions include a handful of fully edited headshots, while branding or commercial shoots may include a larger gallery with more variety.

Each session is designed around what you need — whether that’s one strong LinkedIn photo or a full set of images for your website and marketing.

  • “Yes, I professionally retouch every final image — but always in a natural way. Think of it as removing distractions: a blemish that wasn’t there yesterday, or softening harsh lighting.

I don’t do heavy airbrushing or make you look like someone else. My goal is for you to look polished, confident, and completely like yourself.”

  • When you book shoot, I lock off that time for you. If something comes up I am happy to rebook once, however if you cancel that booking you will lose the retainer you have paid as I will potentially have turned away others for the two time slots I held for you.
